Our comprehensive guide to everything going on at the Droitwich Food and Drink Festival

THINGS could be hotting up at this year’s Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival when the event holds its first ever chilli eating competition, writes Amy Rose Willis.

The Clifton Chilli Club, which is renowned on YouTube, will be hosting the soul-sweating event at 5pm on Saturday, June 22.

The two-day festival returns again to the town’s historic Lido Park, kicking off at 10am and running until 9pm on the opening day.




Among the attractions will be more than 100 food and drink stalls and the Love Food Roadshow featuring a full line-up of expert chefs presenting live cooking demonstrations, masterclasses and tasting sessions.

There will be live entertainment in the bandstand and a new lifestyle area with the Sanders Ultimate Bootcamp personal trainers, a live DJ and bumper cars.

Salt Day Sunday

Sunday, June 23, which starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm – will be Salt Day Sunday, celebrating the town’s special heritage with a line-up to toast Droitwich Salt.

Visitors will be able to learn about the food producers embracing the town’s natural resource and there will be live cooking demonstrations from Droitwich salt producers.

The day will end following an awards ceremony for the ‘A-Salt’ course bootcamp winners.
