People can have their say as 5,500 Wychavon Town plan is submitted

PLANS for 5,500 new homes and a town centre have been formally submitted for the proposed new settlement around Worcestershire Parkway Railway Station.

A spokesperson for the government’s housing and regeneration agency Homes England, confirmed two outline planning applications for Wychavon Town had been received by Wychavon District Council.

The proposals seek consent for several thousand homes alongside alongside schools, community facilities and employment opportunities, integrated transport and active travel connections.

Ben Frodsham, Homes England’s head of planning and enabling, said: “The submission of outline planning applications for 5,500 new homes, a new town centre and supporting infrastructure is a significant milestone in the delivery of Wychavon Town.”

He added it followed many years of collaboration with partners Summix, local councils and Worcestershire County Council.

“This is an important step towards delivering a high-quality new settlement that will help meet housing needs over the next 40 years.”
