AUTHOR Paul Jones will be showcasing his postcard collection at the meeting of the Historic Droitwich and Dodderhill Research Group next Saturday, October 19.
Paul, a keen and knowledgeable local historian, will speak about the postcards and their role in the town’s history at the Olive Branch Community Centre.
He said: “I’ve been collecting postcards since I was very young, maybe about eight or nine and I’m looking forward to taking people on a journey and explaining the story behind each postcard.”
The meeting will also feature reports from the group’s chair and treasurer, officers for next year will be elected and details will be given about new projects.
The group has its own website – www.historicdroitwich.org.uk – which details the history and architecture of the timber-framed buildings on Droitwich High Street and Priory Street.
Organiser Chris Bowers said: “Most of the photographs on the website were taken by Paul and are well worth a look.”
Everyone is welcome to next Saturday’s meeting which runs from 10am to midday.
Tickets at £2 are available on the door.
