Plan for 45 new homes, including affordable housing, in Ombersley

A FIVE-acre site in Ombersley is set to get 45 new homes after it was acquired by housebuilder Spitfire Homes.

The properties will be located on Woodhall Lane in the north of the village, 5.5miles away from Droitwich town centre and less than 10 miles from Worcester.

The development will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes alongside affordable housing (17 will be affordable) and public realm and green space.

Global estate agent Savills listed Ombersley as one of the most desirable villages in the country, based on house prices, amenities and transport links – saying it combined countryside living with connectivity.

Spitfire said the homes had been sympathetically designed to be in-keeping with the village, adding work would start later this month.

Ben Leather, Spitfire Homes’ managing director, said: “The opportunity to invest in Ombersley aligned perfectly with our aims to expand our presence in Worcestershire and other new markets across the Midlands in response to increasing demand from people to own a Spitfire home.

“Ombersley is a highly attractive destination, offering a beautiful village location full of character and charm that also benefits from strong connectivity and local amenities.”

He added there had already been some interest in the homes and urged people to visit spitfirehomes.co.uk to keep up-to-date with the development and when the homes would be completed.
