A VARIETY of mouth-watering delights will be on offer when Droitwich Spa Food and Drink Festival returns this weekend.
Visitors to Lido Park on Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26, will be able to browse more than 100 stalls selling everything from cakes to pies, pickles to bread and everything else in between.
Among those exhibiting will be brownie sensation #NOM and the award-winning Café Cannoli to name just two.
Expert chefs will be creating signature dishes using the freshest of ingredients in the Love Food Roadshow kitchen theatre.
Churchfields will also be sharing the story of Droitwich Spa Salt and how they brought the region’s salt production back to life.
Outside of the food and drink will be activities for children including inflatables, face painting, bumper cars and chariot racing.
Visitors can also enjoy live music until 10pm with performances from community choir Sing & Tonic, Knight and Hodgetts, Jazz Alchemy, The Stourport Brass Band and the country’s much-loved cover band Come Together who will play a selection of hits from the 1960s to the present day.
The festival will be opened by Droitwich’s MP Nigel Huddleston at 10am along with Wychavon Chairman Coun Alex Sinton and Mayor of Droitwich Coun George Duffy.
Wychavon District Council has provided a grant to support the event. Support has also been provided by Worcestershire County Council and local businesses including Ballards LLP, Brown and Fincher Ltd, Liberty Leisure, Nicol and Co, Ormerod Rutter and Sanders Fitness.
Coun Mark Ward, Executive Board Member for Economic Growth and Tourism on Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re so excited to welcome back Droitwich Food and Drink Festival which gets bigger and better every year.
“There is so much to taste, smell, see and do and as well as visiting the festival we’d encourage people to take the opportunity to explore and check out everything else Droitwich Spa has to offer including some fabulous independent shops.”
