THERE will be a special relaunch of the King George V Briar Mill Pavilion on Sunday (October 16) featuring a variety of sporting activities.
The events at the playing fields behind the Rivers Leisure Centre will celebrate the revamp of the pavilion with the next stage of development being the introduction of the 3G football pitch.
The kitchen has new appliances and suppliers so the pavilion can best serve the many teams which use the King George V playing fields.
Sunday’s funday will feature a veterans’ football match at 10.30am, closely followed by a junior hockey tournament on the astro pitch at 11am.
The main events will commence at midday including a free bouncy castle and bungee run, free tea and coffee for adults and free squash for all juniors.
The walking football match will be at 1pm and the adult hockey match will take place at 2.15pm – both on the astro pitch – and the boys and girls football match will be at 3pm on pitch one.
The proceedings will end at 5pm.
Richard Whittall, the independent chairman of the King George V Sports Community Interest Company (CIC), said he would like to thank Droitwich Town Council, Wychavon District Council and Wychavon Leisure for all their help, support and assistance with the project.
The pavilion will be available for hire free of charge for parties and events for bookings of 40 or more people.
