STUDENTS from Droitwich had their poetic talents published in a poetry book after participating in a competition, writes Holly Clement.

RGS Dodderhill pupils are celebrating after their winning poems have been published in the  ‘This is Me! Rhymes of Childhood’ poetry anthology.

The winning poems from the ‘This is Me Young Writers’ competition are published in the book to showcase the student’s creativity and writing ability.

Pupils from years three, four and five said that it was really fun making the poems and they are proud to be in the book.

Year five teacher, Lorna Wilkin said: “The children explored the qualities they found in each other to build their recipes for friendship. These recipes served as inspiration for their poems.”

RGS Dodderhill are holding an Open Day on Saturday, January 27 where it will be hosting a range of exciting activities for visitors including making a clay carving, joining in with music medley and getting hands on with planting seeds.
