A CAR parking machine in Droitwich has been broken into and destroyed in an attempt to steal funds.

The machine, in the main car park of the Lido, was broken into between 6pm on March 7 (Thursday) and 8am on March 8 (Friday). No cash was available to take from the machine.

After it was badly damaged following the break in, the machine was thrown onto the river bank and the tickets were set fire to.

A replacement machine would cost approximately £8,000.
