DROITWICH shoppers are being warned to be on their guard after a distraction theft in St Andrews Square which involved an adult and a child taking an elderly woman’s purse.

The incident happened between 12.35pm and 12.45pm on August 7 when a man who was unknown to the victim bumped into her trolley.

It is believed a girl, aged between eight and nine, then took the woman’s purse.

The man was with another man who was 6ft tall, of large build and was wearing a grey suit, a white shirt and maroon tie.

The child, who was slim with short dark hair and wearing a blue and white skirt, then approached another lady who was wearing a headscarf.

All three suspects were then seen together outside in the precinct.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
