Police investigating serious Ombersley crash re-appeal for more information

Droitwich Editorial 14th Jul, 2019   0

AS INVESTIGATIONS into a serious crash on the A449 in Ombersley continue, police officers trying to piece together what happened are urging anyone who witnessed it to get in touch.

The collision at 6.40am last Wednesday morning involved a white Proton pick-up and a Vauxhall Zafira and happened near China City and Oldfield’s Ombersley store.

A driver had to be cut from one of the cars and was airlifted to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Fire crews from Stourport and Kidderminster worked to free the motorist from the vehicle before they were given trauma care at the scene and flown to hospital.

As well as the Midlands Air Ambulance, two ambulances and a paramedic officer also attended.

The other person involved was checked over at the scene before being discharged.

Officers from Worcestershire OPU (Operational Policing Unit) yesterday issued a re-appeal for any information.

Witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage or information should call police on 101 with the reference number 0084S of July 3.
