AS CHRISTMAS approaches the Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop has re-opened in The Heritage Centre, St Richards House.
The shop is staffed by town volunteers and proceeds from the sales go to a range of national and local charities.
Among them are the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s, NSPCC, Alzheimer’s Society and the RNLI.
The cards come in hundreds of different designs and other items on sale include advent calendars, candles, wrapping paper, gift tags, napkins and stocking fillers.
Chris Smith, who set up the shop, said: “Buying charity Christmas cards is one of the simplest ways to support good causes this festive season. “Sales not only generate funds with which the charities can make a real difference, but also purchasing and sending them helps raise awareness of the vital work these charities do.”
At least 70p in every £1 goes to the causes and in the past ten years the scheme has raised £40million nationwide.
The shop is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and between 10am and 1.30pm on Saturday.
