Popular classic car and motorbike show returns this bank holiday Monday

Droitwich Editorial 12th Aug, 2019   0

THIS August bank holiday Monday sees the return of the ever popular classic car and motorbike show, organised by the Chaddesley Corbett Classic Car Club – and it’s all in aid of the Rory the Robot prostate cancer campaign.

The 2018 show saw close to 200 British, European and American cars on display.

First prize was awarded to an Alfa Spyder 2600 while other cars on display included Jaguar E types and XKs, MGs, five decades of Triumph TRs, Ferraris, ACs, Astons, Morgans and many more. There was even a ‘new kid on the block’ – a Mclaren 600LT Spyder.

This year’s event is held in the grounds of the Swan Inn, Chaddesley Corbett and a four acre field at the rear, kindly donated by a local resident.

The Swan will host a barbecue, with its famous Bathams bitter and a fine variety of gins.

There is free parking for visitors with a £2 entrance fee for adults, entrance is free for children.

Exhibitors pay £10 per car, £5 per motorbike with all proceeds donated to Rory the Robot appeal for prostate cancer patients in Worcestershire.

It’s all happening on Monday, August 26 and the gates open at 10.30am and the car parks will close at 6pm.

The Rory the Robot appeal is to fund a surgical robot to carry out prostate cancer operations vastly cutting the discomfort, scar and recovering time of a patient.

It is expected to be sited at the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch.

The Swan, Chaddesley Corbett is off the A448 Bromsgrove to Kidderminster road.
