PCSO Andrea Leslie wins prestigious award for making Droitwich a safer place

A POLICE Community Support Officer from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team has been recognised for her dedication to keeping people in the town safe.

PCSO Andrea Leslie, who is a member of the Droitwich West team and has been a police officer in the town for 12 years, received the annual Wychavon Police Trophy.

Andrea was nominated for the award for providing a ‘gold star’ service, offering sound advice and reassurance and gaining the trust of the community.

She was praised for her compassion towards victims and her enthusiasm to make a difference, as well as going above and beyond to make herself available to support the most vulnerable, even when she is off duty.

Andrea has contributed to countless investigations by gaining valuable information from the community which trusts her.

She also has a good track record of identifying problems and community concerns, flagging those issue up and ensuring the right resources are deployed to resolve real issues which impact the community.

Ch Insp Sean Kent, said: “We are delighted Andrea’s service to her community has been recognised by our partners at Wychavon District Council.

“Over the last 12 years Andrea has been tireless in the support of the most vulnerable and at risk.”

Coun Tony Rowley, Chairman of Wychavon District Council, said: “It was an honour to present Andrea with this award – her dedication and contribution undoubtedly makes Droitwich a far safer town.

“She is an asset to the community and we are thankful for her hard working ethic and commitment to helping others.”
