CARS built in Longbridge took centre stage last night at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.
A variety of red, white and blue vehicles from a multitude of eras built at the once World famous factory were part of a dramatic display.

Gemma Cartwright MBE, who founded Pride of Longbridge, said: “I am a super proud Brummie who was delighted and excited to be able to share our great heritage.
“Having the cars in the opening ceremony was a true privilege and I am thankful for the owners who gave up their time to take part.”
Steven Morris, whose Rover Metro GTi was in the line-up, said: “I was truly honoured to be part of the opening ceremony it really was a once in a lifetime experience and a great homage to the Longbridge Rover factory and car company.”

And Rob Parry – whose white 1995 MGF, was involved in the celebration added: “Being a Brummie it makes me so proud to see, meet and become friends with a group of wonderful people.
“The enthusiasm and excitement that comes across from everyone who I have met whilst doing this will stay with me forever.
“Well done Brum.”
