PUPILS from Ombersley Endowed First School have received Blue Peter badges after singing at the Young Voices concert at Birmingham’s Genting Arena.
Barney from Blue Peter made a special visit to the show and some of the children wrote him a letter to say how much they had enjoyed meeting him, as well as performing with thousands of other youngsters.
They then got a big surprise when they were awarded with the famous Blue Peter Badge which offers free entry into more than 200 attractions around the country, including Alton Towers, Warwick Castle, the Black Country Living Museum and Twycross Zoo.
Year four pupil Joseph Al Bajjaly said: “When I opened the letter and saw it was from Blue Peter and I jumped up and down. I was so excited to get my Blue Peter badge.”
Headteacher Caroline Moore said: “We are so proud of our small choir who always work so hard and perform so well.
“They sang beautifully at Young Voices after practising their songs and dance moves all afternoon.
“What a lovely end to this exciting and memorable experience for our children.”
