Public safety at risk after raw sewage dumped near Upton Warren

Droitwich Editorial 12th Dec, 2019   0

PUBLIC safety has been put at risk after raw sewage was dumped near to Upton Warren and the River Salwarpe.

Environment Agency officers say they are taking the incident, which took place on Fish House Lane, ‘very seriously’.

Officer Peter Mullard of West Midlands Environment Agency, said: “This is irresponsible behaviour and if we catch the people responsible we will apply full force of the law.

“It looks like a tanker full of septic waste has been released onto the field near the river with no regard to public health or the potential damage to the river or the nearby Upton Warren Nature Reserve.

“We would urge anyone who has information to call our hotline on 0800 80 70 60.”
