Pupils from Witton and Westacre showcase their star quality

PUPILS from two Droitwich schools have united together to create a new dance performance.

The youngsters from Witton and Westacre Middle schools worked for two weeks with Jo from The Star Project as part of the UNITE project.

The children will continue to meet over the next few weeks to develop the piece but will mainly rehearse in their own schools.

Jo said it was all about teamwork and fun.

“I thoroughly believe this project has been a great way to UNITE both schools through dance.

“They have created a fantastic piece and both girls and boys have grown in confidence and were so excited to meet each other and become a team.”

She added dance was a great expressive medium to bring out children’s creative sides and she added she hoped she could repeat the project next year with two more schools from the area.

The Star Project Droitwich runs every Monday at Droitwich Methodist Church, offering musical theatre sessions to children aged from four to 18 and the organisation also delivers workshops during the day to local schools.
