OWNERS of quad bikes are being warned to be on their guard after a number of thefts of the vehicles across Worcestershire.
According to police there has been a significant rise in the number of all-terrain vehicles, especially in rural areas across the county.
Owners are being urged to make sure quad bikes are secured and in a locked and alarmed building and keys are removed.
The police also suggest a heavy duty chain and padlock is used to anchor the vehicles and tracking devices are fitted.
Owners should take photographs of the quad biles and note down serial numbers if not registered.
Larger vehicles should be parked in front of buildings housing quad bikes and they can be marked so they are identifiable if stolen and then recovered.
Anyone with any information on quad bike thefts should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
