PEOPLE wanting to see a vintage steam train should get themselves down to Droitwich Railway Station this evening, writes Neil Gordon.

The engine 7029 named ‘Clun Castle’ operated by Vintage Trains is due to pass through the Spa at 7.10pm during a dining trip from Birmingham Moor Street to Worcester Shrub Hill.

It is expected to pass back through Droitwich at 7.46pm.

Vintage Trains is now an official operator and Cath Bellamy, the company’s managing director, said:

“Vintage Trains is pleased to be back, with our magnificent flagship engine Clun Castle leading the way following its overhaul at Tyseley Locomotive Works.”

People are urged to make sure they do not trespass on the railway lines.
