Rail strikes called off after agreement is reached but it is too late to change Saturday's timetable

THE INDUSTRIAL action by the RMT which has seen trains serving Bromsgrove and Droitwich disrupted over the last few Saturdays has been called off after the union and the RMT reached an agreement.

The agreement covering the role of conductors on new trains follows several weeks of negotiation.

This will now be subject to a workforce referendum, and in the mean time, the remaining strikes have been suspended.

A West Midlands Trains’ spokesperson said “ Both sides have worked hard on our shared vision to keep a conductor on every passenger train with safety critical duties.”

This outcome means this Saturday’s strike has been called off.

But because the agreement came too late to withdraw Saturday’s amended timetable, there will be fewer services as there has been on the last four Saturdays.

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel on Saturday.
