Rallying call for visually impaired residents to give new tennis sessions in Droitwich a go

Droitwich Editorial 9th Oct, 2018   0

A ‘RALLYING call’ for visually impaired people to come and give tennis a go.

Neil Bates from Droitwich Tennis Club leads the sessions which use specially adapted equipment to help players locate and connect with the ball by using their combined senses.

Neil said: “We already have a few players and we have seen some great tennis but it would be nice to have a few more people come along.

“I have found out there are more than 100 people registered blind in Droitwich alone but I’m not sure how many of them know about the sessions.”

The sessions are held every Saturday morning at the Lido Park courts
