WALKERS and runners are being challenged to take on either a 22-mile or 11-mile canalside course to raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice, writes Roman Filkin.
The annual Waterways Walk takes place on August 4.
The 22-mile event starts at Droitwich Rugby Club between 7am and 8am and takes participants to Diglis in Worcester and back.
The 11-mile route will start between 10.30am and 11.30am at Diglis.
The event, sponsored by Anytime Fitness, is returning after a break last year and has always been popular in the past.
St Richard’s Hospice fund-raiser Kelly Johns said: “Both routes take in some picturesque stretches of Worcestershire’s canal and river networks, making for an enjoyable challenge – while raising money to support our care.”
Registrations are open until 1pm next Friday, August 2.
Admission is £12 for adults and £8 for under 16s.
Children must be 12 or over to take part.
