RESIDENTS thinking of trying their hand at a spot of acting can go along to the Norbury Theatre tonight (Friday).
There is a play reading of Relative Values by Noel Coward in the venue’s Green Room at 7.30pm.
The play is a light comedy set in 1951 when attitudes to the aristocracy and the working class are changing.
Moxie is maid to Felicity Countess of Marshwood. Felicity’s son Nigel announces his engagement to Miranda Frayle, a film star who is actually Moxie’s estranged sister.
Miranda creates a totally untrue family history from which she ran away to become a film star.
Moxie is outraged by this and things obviously change when the truth is known.
The cast is five male and five female.
Norbury Theatre Chairman Anne Lane said: “Our play readings are very relaxed, informal and above all great fun!
“You don’t need to be an actor, or have even acted before.
“Come along and see what you think!”
