ROYAL Mail is reminding residents tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day for posting first class mail in the UK to ensure it reaches recipients before Christmas, writes Ryan Smith.

Saturday, December 22, is the last day for posting items Special Delivery.

Customers can help Royal Mail ensure that all their letter, cards and parcels are delivered as quickly and efficiently as possible by taking a few easy steps:

Post early to avoid disappointment, clearly address cards and parcels with a postcode and return address and wrap parcels well and always give a return address.

For valuable and important items Special Delivery can be used to guarantee delivery as the gift is tracked, traced and insured against loss.

Wychavon Chairman Coun Tony Rowley has visited staff at the district’s Delivery Office in Pershore.

Coun Rowley caught up with staff who were delivering extra post and parcels over the festive season, including Christmas cards and gifts.

Coun Rowley said: “This was a great opportunity to get out and meet some of the hard working staff who are so very busy in the lead up to Christmas. The team are working flat out to ensure the safe delivery of Christmas cards and parcels alongside all the normal post.

“The Royal Mail workers are truly part of the community and this is particularly noted at this time of the year. I felt privileged to meet them and offer some words of thanks.”
