RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on the future of Droitwich Spa by filling out a survey pertaining to the town’s neighbourhood plan.
The management group spearheading the project, consisting of five town councillors and six residents, say they want to carry out the will of the community.
The purpose of the plan is to contribute to the future well-being of the town, its people and local businesses.
It will be accomplished by producing planning inputs which will provide a reference point for local planning decisions and will be protected by law where appropriate.
The objective is to create a vision for all aspects of future development in Droitwich.
Also to support and influence the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP) and provide policies on how land within the town boundaries should be used.
Influence could extend to deciding where new homes, offices and industrial units should be built and what they look like.
As well as having a say on the protection of Droitwich green spaces and development of recreational areas.
Town councillor Rod Hopkins, a member of the management group, said: “Our primary objective throughout lockdown has been to produce the questionnaire.
“We also want to recruit more volunteers to help us develop the final plan which will represent the views of the wider community.”
