Residents with items which need repairing can have them fixed for free in Droitwich tomorrow

Tristan Harris 26th Jan, 2018   0

RESIDENTS who have things which need repairing can take them along to an event in Droitwich tomorrow where they can be fixed for free.

The BDMakerspace Cafe will be at the Droitwich CVS building, 65 Ombersley Street East, between 10am and 4pm.

Members of BDMakerspace will be at the community workshop carrying out simple repairs, fitting batteries and drive belts, repairing small electrical items and replacing fuses.

Clothes, curtains and small furniture can also be mended.

The event is aimed at the ‘repair, reuse and recycle’ ethos, saving money and there will be repair help and advice on offer.

Although the event is free, BD Makerspace will accept donations of cash or materials to continue the ongoing project.

BD Makerspace also wants to encourage those without access to tools, or those who lack the confidence or skills to do their own repairs and learn new skills.

The scheme is a local campaign to set up a permanent community workshop space for arts, crafts, learning and fun.
