2015 has been an interesting year weatherwise.
The year was most noted for having a consistently windy first half but, despite that, the year began with one of the sunniest winters on record.
That start was followed by a dry spring and the sunniest April since records began.
Unfortunately though, that seemed to kickstart at catalogue of chilly nights throughout the summer.
Summer, on the whole, was fairly dry, but a touch on the cool side. The weather made up for it later though when it ended in torrents of rain.
A quiet, cool September followed, then a dry and mild October.
It was exceptionally mild and equally dull in both November and December, as balmy winds wafted up from near the Canary Islands for much of the time, bringing occasional heavy rain.
Despite that rainy weather, which led to flooding in some parts of the country, this December will go down on record as the warmest of everyone’s lifetime and, arguably, the warmest for the last 70 years.
Daffodils were even spotted in gardens which is absolutely unheard of at this time of year.
That put paid to a white Christmas for most of us and, looking back on 2015 overall, it has been the warmest year on record.
Some predicitons from the Met Office also suggest 2016 could be just as warm, if not warmer.
