RGS Dodderhill recognised for excellence in international education

A SCHOOL in Droitwich has been awarded for its efforts to educate its students on global topics.

RGS Dodderhill has achieved accreditation with the British Council’s International School Award (ISA) for 2025-28 in recognition of the school’s commitment to embedding international learning and global citizenship across its curriculum.

The International School Award celebrates schools that do exceptional work in international education, preparing pupils with the cultural understanding, language skills and global awareness needed for life and work in today’s interconnected world.

The accreditation has been awarded following three years of collaboration with different schools in France and Spain. Within the cultural exchanges, students from Dodderhill shared festive cards and book recommendations, recreated internationally recommended dishes and even celebrated Chinese New Year.

These activities complement the study of French and Spanish up to GCSE, while the project continues this year with plans to mark European Day of Languages and take part in an online poetry workshop with a school in South Africa.

RGS Dodderhill is particularly proud to be among the first secondary schools regionally to achieve full accreditation in recognition of this sustained international programme.

Ms Amy Page, headteacher of RGS Dodderhill, said: “We are delighted to have achieved accreditation. This is a true reflection of the creativity, dedication and enthusiasm of our staff and pupils, who embrace opportunities to connect with other cultures and communities.

“At RGS Dodderhill, we see international learning as a vital part of preparing our pupils to be confident and compassionate global citizens.”

The International School Award is managed by the British Council and has been presented to over 6,000 schools in the UK since the scheme began in 1999.
