Rosie's latest artwork ' Wonky Droitwich 1960s' set for big release at festival

ARTIST Rosie Philpott is releasing a latest ‘Wonky Droitwich’ painting at next month’s St Richard’s Canal Festival in Vines Park, writes Zaynab Hamdy.

Rosie broke into the local art scene with her first distinctive ‘Wonky Droitwich’ painting in 2012 and since then has built a successful career selling her much-loved artworks at festivals and events.

Through popularity of her signature style and her pieces’ titles, Droitwich Place Board were inspired to use ‘Wonky High Street’ on the latest signage.

Rosie will be showcasing her latest addition on her stall at her first festival of the year, between May 2 and 4.

‘Wonky Droitwich 1960s’ is vibrant and quirky depiction of the town’s famously wobbly high street as it appeared 60 years ago.

Rosie said: “The famous ‘boy on the bike’, who appears in all of my Droitwich paintings, makes a return – but this time without his modern headphones.”

The original painting is A1 in size and in a solid oak frame – it will be available to buy, along with A2 and A3 size prints.

Visitors to the St Richard’s Canal Festival will also be able to meet Rosie and chat to her about her artwork.
