THE EVER-POPULAR Salwarpe Village Fete is set to return this year celebrating 25 years of successful fundraising.
BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester presenter, Nina Das Gupta, will perform the opening ceremony at the fete which will be held at Churchfields Farm on Copcut Lane.
Listeners visiting the fete will be able to put a face to the name of the host of the popular early morning show as she gets the party-themed proceedings going at 2pm on Saturday, August 19.
There will be plenty to see and do for all the family, including a bucking bronco, barbecue, music from Worcester Ukulele Band, a classic car display and cider tent.
There will also be a demonstration of children’s dancing and gymnastics, with children in the audience invited to join in after the display, a dog show with six classes leading to best in show, pony rides, a coconut shy, greasy pole and other sideshows.
The popular bric-a-brac marquee is expected to be as busy as usual with bargain hunters sifting through everything from DVDs to crockery and curtains to toys.
Parking is free, entry is £2 for adults (children under 16 free) and all proceeds go to help maintain the historic churches at Salwarpe and Martin Hussingtree.
