A SPECTACULAR sound and light installation which takes visitors on a journey through space is coming to Worcester Cathedral later this month.
The SPACE event will see the interior of the majestic building transformed and visitors walking amongst the stars as they contemplate the universe and beyond.
Created by award winning artistic duo ‘Luxmuralis’ – made up of sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper – sound and light art is projected onto the stunning architectural features within the Cathedral and visitors are enveloped with bespoke music as they view and experience a journey to the edge of the Universe and back.
Visitors will walk through projection art installations, be immersed in the sound and light, and have the chance to explore and contemplate their own personal journeys.
Stephen Edwards, residentiary canon of Worcester Cathedral, said: “We’re very excited to be hosting the SPACE exhibition in September and it promises to be a spectacular show, featuring an immersive internal sound and light journey that will transform the interior of our majestic Cathedral.
“Projects like this are very exciting and important for the Cathedral as they allow visitors to experience our magnificent building in the evening, and in a different way.
“We are always keen to show off the diversity of our stunning building, attract new visitors and allow people the opportunity to experience the Cathedral in all its glory.”
SPACE will take place each evening from September 22 to 25.

Under 3s are free, but visitors will need to book a space.
