Service to celebrate life of Droitwich's MND warrior John Adams set to take place

Droitwich Editorial 21st Mar, 2024 Updated: 23rd Mar, 2024   0

THE FAMILY of Droitwich’s MND Warrior John Adams have released details of the service to celebrate his inspiring life.

John passed away after his brave battle with Motor Neurones Disease.

The funeral cortege will depart from Droitwich Rugby Club between 10.15am and 10.30am on Tuesday, March 26, travelling through the High Street and on to Dodderhill Church/St Augustine’s for the service at 11am.

Because numbers are restricted, church seating will just be for family and close friends.

The service will be broadcast live outside on a large screen and speakers outside the church and at Droitwich Rugby Club.

For those unable to attend, a link will be issued so the service can be viewed online.

There is no restricted dress code for those attending – people are urged to wear what they feel most comfortable in.

Everyone is welcome to Droitwich Rugby Club afterwards for food and drink to celebrate John’s life.

The family have thanked everyone ‘for their wonderful messages of support’ since John’s death.

A message from John Adams’ daughter Helen Millward

Hello everyone, firstly thank you everyone for all the love and support you have shown us all over these difficult weeks.

We would like to confirm the final details for dad’s celebration of life.

The funeral cortège will leave Droitwich Rugby Club at approximately 10.00am Tuesday 26th March

The cortège will travel up Droitwich high street past The Talbot pub towards St Andrews Square. If time allows we will go down Vines Lane before turning around at The Gardeners Pub.

The service will be at St Augustine’s church/ Dodderhill at 11.00am (WR9 8QR)

There is limited car parking spaces at the church however Dodderhill School have kindly offered car parking and it is based next to the church (WR9 0BE).

After the service we will go back to the rugby club where we will supply food and a drink for everyone.
