Sing and Tonic launches fun, friendly and feelgood choir in Droitwich for those recovering from cancer

A NEW choir has been started by Sing and Tonic for those who are recovering from cancer and their carers.

Everyone is welcome to the sessions which take place at Droitwich Methodist Church Hall, Worcester Road, every Tuesday from 2pm to 3.45pm.

Research has shown that singing can release oxytocin, meaning people have the ‘feelgood factor’, especially when they sing together.

It is also a good aerobic activity as studies have proven it improves lung capacity, develops better posture, helps with memory, relieves anxiety and is highly motivational.

Sing and Tonic founder Sarah Inglis who is leading the sessions said: “Singing is also a good aerobic activity, exercising the body and mind.”

The sessions, which are hosted by the Worcester Cancer Support Group and made possible by Macmillan funding, sees participants sing a range of pop songs in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

There are also tea and coffee breaks where members can get to know each other.

For more email [email protected] or [email protected] or call Sarah on 07801 225883 or Sylvia on 01905 422654.
