A YOUNGSTER in Droitwich has been crowned the winner of a Christmas card competition and will win lots of books for her creative efforts.
Isla-Rose Rossiter, aged six, won the Nicol & Co Christmas card competition for her design of a snowman dressed in a colourful hat and scarf, surrounded by festive lights.
The imaginative creation by Isla-rose, who goes to Chawson First School in Droitwich, has beaten scores of other entries to win the prize offered by the Worcestershire estate agency.
Little Isla-rose will now pick up £300 worth of books for her school’s library, along with 30 copies of the card for her own family’s use, plus a Santa’s sack of goodies worth £50.
Matt Nicol, managing director of Nicol & Co, which has branches in Droitwich, Malvern and Worcester, said this was the ninth year his company has organised the competition.
The competition ran throughout late November and early December, with the company’s Facebook followers deciding on the winner via their online approvals.
Mr Nicol said: “We were thrilled to see Isla-rose win the competition, as this was such an intricate and colourful design for a six-year-old.
“It was lovely to see all the colourful entries that we received, and as always it was thrilling to watch Nicol & Co’s Facebook followers decide on the best one with their ‘likes’ and ‘shares’.
“We now look forward to sending out our Christmas card to all our customers and partners across Worcestershire, which is something Isla-rose and her family can be very proud of.
“We’re also delighted that Isla-rose gets to enjoy a prize for herself, and that Chawson First School can now invest in some new books for all its children.”
