A GARDEN party is being held at the Gardeners Arms tomorrow to raise funds for the Droitwich Spa Dementia Meeting Centre.
Two members of Bromsgrove band Skabucks, who host an annual charity drive from Bromsgrove to Spain for Alzheimers, also hold an annual garden party and this year have chosen the meeting centre.
The event starts at 1.30pm and will feature live music from renowned singer Clyde Spencer from 4pm to 6pm and Skabucks at 7.30pm.
There will also be information on dementia to raise awareness, a raffle and food and drink available all day.
Dementia is one of the growing problems in the UK and it affects many families.
New medical advances have shown one key area which can help is support, the kind provided by the Droitwich Dementia Meeting Centre.
There is funding in place until the end of the year but more is needed to secure its long-term future and the team are currently seeking a variety of funding sources.
The Droitwich Meeting Centre’s chair Alan Humphries said he was delighted to be working with Simon Berry from the Gardeners Arms.
“The Gardeners is a jewel in the Droitwich crown, frequented and loved by many.
“It is through these close community ties local people can find out what we do to help members and their families live well with mild to moderate dementia.
“We look forward to many more future events and associations.”
