THE SNOW has caused chaos to public transport with West Midlands Trains warning people not to travel and bus companies announcing all services across Worcestershire and Birmingham have been suspended until further notice.
First Worcestershire which runs the 144 from Worcester to Birmingham, via Bromsgrove and Droitwich, has stopped all its services and Diamond Buses has announced many of its services are not running.
National Express West Midlands said this morning it had withdrawn all of its buses because of the heavy snow.
And West Midlands Railway said, although it was attempting to run as many trains as possible, poor road conditions were making it difficult for its staff to get to work, leading to a significant amount of delays and cancellations.
A spokesman for the train operator said “We apologise to our customers.
“We have experienced significant snow falls across our network overnight.
“While we have done all we can to prepare our trains, stations and depots, road access is provig the biggest challenge of all.
“Our main priorities are to run what services we can safely and make preparations to protect the start of commuter services on Monday morning.
“Anyone who has had their rail journey delayed by 15 minutes or more should claim delay repay compensation. “Information can be found on the London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway websites.”
