THOSE who go to Droitwich Spa Lido can enjoy music by the pool over the next three weekends.

And there are some top acts coming to the venue, starting with last year’s X-Factor contestant Giles Potter who will be performing from 7pm to 9pm on Saturday (June 21).

Next Saturday (June 28), Abby Inez kicks off the evening at 7pm, Polly Edwards performs from 7.40pm and Amyee Weir takes to the stage at 8.20pm.

Country singer Abby was featured on our front page last month when her debut EP reached number seven in the iTunes charts and she was selected to perform at Birmingham’s LG Arena before Katie Perry took to the stage.

The following Saturday and Sunday (July 5 and 6), the event, being run in conjunction with the Droitwich Spa Festival, concludes with music on both days.

On the Saturday, there will be a performance by Witton Middle School at 7pm, Laura Sankey at 7.40pm and Abby Inez at 8.20pm.

On the Sunday, Lucy May Walker and Abby Inez will take to the stage between 4pm and 6pm.

On the Saturdays, the pool will be open from 6.30pm to 8.30pm for swimming, along with the cafe an admission is £2 for both swimmers and non-swimmers.

On the Sunday, a standard entry fee applies.

As well as the music, there is also the Droitwich Spa Sea Bathing Lido Exhibition, which boasts photographs, newsreel and interviews about the venue’s history. It covers the opening of the venue in 1935 and its history throughout the 1940s and 1950s.

It is free to all those who have a swimming ticket.
