TALENTED teenagers from Droitwich took two of the four titles in this year’s W-Factor competition.
Amelia Wood won the music category and Poppy Haughton, 17, triumphed in the dance section. Both girls attend RGS Dodderhill School.
The other winners were 14-year-old Amy Hodges from Evesham (singing under 15s) and Maddison Clayton, 17 from Pershore (singing over 15s).
The glamorous final was held at the packed Number 8 Community Arts Centre in Pershore last Friday and was compered by Andrew Easton from BBC Hereford and Worcester Radio.
Last year’s winner Sophie Gilbert provided the entertainment as the judges deliberated on their verdict.
Coun Rob Adams, the portfolio holder for community engagement, culture and sport at Wychavon District Council which organised the event, said it was a hugely enjoyable evening.
“The young people who took part are so talented and their passion for the performing arts really shone through.
“Although not everyone could be selected as a winner, every participant should be very proud of themselves for getting through to the final stage of the competition.”
Wychavon chairman Coun Frances Smith gave out the trophies and Coun Adams the certificates.
