SPArkles WI raised £261 for domestic abuse survivors

SPARKLES WI has raised £261.72 for the Dawn Project – a charity which helps survivors of domestic abuse in Worcestershire.

It has been a busy time for the group which has also celebrated its tenth anniversary.

The inaugural president Fiona Little said: “I am really proud to see SPArkles go from strength to strength.

“It means so much to many people – fun, friendship and the chance to learn a new skill, from Morris dancing and bell-ringing to windsurfing and spa days.”

SPArkles WI was launched back in 2012 to bring together like-minded women in a modern Women’s Institute group.

A spokesperson said they wanted it to be more about the fun and friendship and to move away from the ‘jam and Jerusalem’ WI reputation.
