MEMBERS of Droitwich’s SPArkles WI raised £555 for Marie Curie after taking part in the Swimathon at Perdiswell.
The group – Sue Broadbank, Alison Newel, Anne-Marie Harley and Jan Heritage – notched up 5km between them.
It was organised as part of the SPArkles WI ‘Bucket Club’ where members have also enjoyed feats like alpaca walking and spa days. There is a windsurfing session planned for this month.
SPArkles WI’s Bucket Club founder Alison said: “Some people want to do activities their friends or family don’t want to do.
“Once we float the idea in Bucket Club there’s normally some like-minded people who will have a go and memories are created.”
