ARTISTIC residents braved several downpours on Saturday (March 28) to paint 21 panels for this year’s Droitwich town mural.
People of all ages carried out the painting in St Andrew’s Square for the piece which has been designed by pupils from Witton Middle School.
It features a montage of images relating to Droitwich’s Royal Charter and the Magna Carta which were both signed in 1215, meaning this year is the 800th anniversary of both.
The finished piece will be put up at Netherwich Canal Basin, behind Malvern Tyres, and will be visible from Vines Park from May to October.
Cash raised on the day is going to St Richard’s Hospice.
The mural has been supported by a number of firms and organisations, including Droitwich Town Council, Worcestershire County Council, Nicol and Co estate agents, Malvern Tyres, The Bodleys (industrial automation) and County Building Supplies.
Anyone wanting more information on the project should e-mail Peter Hawkins from DAN on [email protected] or call 07766 413094 or e-mail [email protected].
