A SPECIAL event is being held in Ombersley this afternoon (Saturday) to showcase local businesses, groups and organisations and to support them throughout the pandemic.
The ‘Ombersley Showcase’ runs from 1pm to 5pm at the Memorial Village Hall.
It will feature displays from local fitness instructors including Sweaty Mamas, Zumba, Ollie’s Personal Fitness and Penniphysio (yoga).
There will also be a variety of stalls from local artisan companies producing items such as children’s clothing and silver jewellery making, candles, diffusers and room fresheners.
Local author Claire Gathercole will be offering her book for sale as well as home-made jam and marmalade.
Ombersley Tennis Club, Cricket Club and Golf Club will be giving visitors the chance to test their skills and find out more about how to join.
Other local business in attendance range from architects, will writers to local hostelries and kitchen designers.
Judy Goodman, Chair of Ombersley and Doverdale Parish Council which has organised the event, said: “We are totally committed to supporting our local businesses recover from a very difficult last 18 months and let them know that we are here to help them.
“Ombersley and Doverdale have a wonderful and thriving array of businesses, pubs, restaurants, artisan producers, groups and organisations and we want to make sure that they can continue to prosper in the future”
