Special flag raising ceremony was held in Droitwich to mark Armed Forces Day

Droitwich Editorial 27th Jun, 2017   0

A SPECIAL ceremony was held outside St Richards House in Droitwich on Saturday to mark Armed Forces Day.

The event, to show support for servicemen and women and the tough job they do on a daily basis, was attended by the Mayor of Drotiwich Spa, Coun Shaun Best, Rev Nigel Byard and several organisations.

Among them was the town’s Royal British Legion and the Droitwich Air Cadets which accompanied the raising of the flag by the Mayor.

There was a minute’s silence to remember the lives lost at war.

Dignitaries and members of the public also enjoyed a full performance by the Droitwich Air Cadets Squadron band to mark the end of the ceremony.

One member of the public approached the band after the performance to say she could hear them from across town and they were a credit to themselves.
