Specsavers calling for foodbank donations in Droitwich this Christmas

Droitwich Editorial 21st Nov, 2023   0

AN OPTICIANS in Droitwich is calling for customers to donate food items to help those in need in the run up to Christmas.

Specsavers in Salters Shopping Centre are collecting non-perishable food items and toiletries which will be donated to the local Trussell Trust foodbank and homeless shelters.

“We support our local foodbanks at various times throughout the year, and now feels like a more fitting time than ever to give back to those who are vulnerable,” said Emma Singh, store director of Specsavers, Droitwich.

“Sadly still so many people in our local communities are struggling due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, so rely on this vital service.

“As a team we’ll be buying that extra bag of pasta or tube of toothpaste to donate and encourage others to support us by dropping off anything they can spare, or donate too, at one of our stores.”

The Trussell Trust provides emergency food and support to those in need across the UK. With 1,300 foodbanks nationally, the organisation works hard to help those who have fallen on hard times or living in poverty.

To make a donation, you can drop off any items at Specsavers, located at Salters Shopping Centre, Unit 10, St Andrews Square
