PEOPLE of all ages will come together for a special event on Saturday, June 23, to celebrate sport in the town and to remember Frank Holliday who volunteered at Droitwich Spa Boys and Girls Football Club for more than 40 years.

The event, on the King George V Playing Fields, gets under way at 9.30am with a women’s netball tournament and a boys and girls football tournament on the grass pitch.

There will also be a junior hockey contest (11.30am), hockey v football challenge match (1pm), a walking football tournament (2.30pm) and a legends football match (4pm).

There will also be a bouncy castle, bar, screenings of the Women’s World Cup and Frank’s charity raffle with proceeds going to St Richard’s Hospice.

Frank passed away in June 2017 at the age of 73. He retired from the club two years before after being diagnosed with cancer.

One of the cups contested tomorrow will be the Frank Holliday Memorial Trophy.

Everyone is welcome and where possible people will be given the chance to play one of the sports.
