WOODLAND View Care Home is opening its doors to the community this week with a host of free events for the whole family.

Their open week got underway yesterday when Mo the Zoo Keeper bought a selection of exotic and furry animals to enjoy.

There was also a live sing along show from Glam sparrow in the afternoon and Droitwich Mayor Coun George Duffy joined them for lunch.

Today there will be Armchair Yoga from 10.30am and magicians from 2pm, and tomorrow people can enjoy flower arranging & children’s films in the cinema complete with popcorn, ice cream and coffee and cake for parents.

Youngsters can join in a Teddy Bears Picnic in the gardens on Thursday at 10.30am, followed by a performance from local singer Barry Jukes at 2pm who will sing hits from the 50’s to the 80’s.

On Friday at 10.30am artist Sonia Jackson will teach new techniques to a class and in the afternoon Woodland View will be planting a memorial tree for a resident who has passed away.

The open week culminates in Saturday’s Summer Fair, which will be opened by Worcester Carnival Queen Melanie Eastwood at 11.30am.

The fair will feature a tombola, a cake sale, bric a brac, an ice cream van, ponies and much more.
