A TALENTED Droitwich swimmer has broken a record in the town which has stood for almost 40 years.

Chloe Gilbert Bevan, who is 15 and swims for Droitwich Spa Swimming Club (DSSC), has been in sparkling form recently, breaking club records in 11 different events, as well as picking up two Junior regional Champion Titles in the recent West Midlands Winter Championships. (50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke).

Her latest record – for the 100m breaststroke – had been held by Joanne Seymour since January 21, 1984. Joanne still swims in DSSC’s Masters Squad and her record was in the same race where Chloe took the title.

Chloe is now preparing for the National Winter Championships in Sheffield in December.

She is a recipient of the Gifted and Talented scheme at Droitwich Leisure Centre allowing her access to the centre’s gym facilities.

Chloe is seen with her record breaker certificate alongside Joanne
