A HISTORY talk looking at the how a key Droitwich town centre street, its buildings and people were in years gone by will be given next Saturday (June 11) at the town’s library.
‘A Stroll down Friar Street’, organised as part of the Dodderhill Parish Survey Project, will take place from 10am to midday.
Robena Lambe, a member of the Historic Droitwich project who has been responsible for collating information and images on a database being built for the Historic Droitwich Heritage Lottery project.
In her talk, she will take those who go along down Friar Street, showing images of the buildings from maps, plans, postcards and photographs.
These visual aids will be combined with details gleaned from the earliest historical documents (including inventories, wills and trade directories) and on to modern times, with personal recollections from residents who lived in the area from the 1930s.
Everyone is welcome and admission is £1.
