A VINTAGE shop in Worcester’s Hopmarket has opened the doors of a brand-new tea rooms.

No 13 Emporium – which provides sewing services, upholstery, industrial lighting, recycled furniture as well as vintage and retro goods – opened the new vintage tea rooms on Monday (May 17).

The tea rooms will serve traditional loose leaf teas and cakes supplied by local Droitwich firm, Teagle’s Treats.

Caroline Wickham, owner at No 13 Emporium said: “Launching the tea rooms is all part of expanding our vintage theme and we are delighted to have teamed up with a local supplier to provide our cakes.

“We are so looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming customers.”

Make n Mend originally opened its doors in The Hopmarket in July 2018; previous to this, Caroline worked from home for 10 years; as her reputation and workload increased she needed more space and her offering grew to include sewing services, upholstery, home furnishings, craft classes including sewing and chalk, as well as shabby chic furnishings and gifts.

Caroline’s plans for the future include delivering craft classes to include decoupage, painted furniture, upholstery and sewing; the shop also hopes to expand into home furnishings such as cushions and blinds.

No 13 Emporium has two rooms for hire with the aim being to rent them out to local crafts people for classes and meetings.

The Hopmarket has been a place to do business since 1731 where dealers came to trade hops. In the early 1900s the site was replaced with the current building to become a hotel and bank before being converted to a thriving shopping courtyard.

Bookings are now being taken for one hour slots and the tea rooms will be open from 10am until 2pm
