Team of intrepid Droitwich accountants raise £3,000 for British Lung Association

SIX brave colleagues endured a grueling 24-hour physical challenge in order to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.

Doug Marshall and Graeme Pardoe, senior account managers at Ormerod Rutter Chartered, decided to do the Three Peaks Challenge for Mr Marshall’s father-in-law who has Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

He is also currently on the waiting list for a life-saving lung transplant.

After hearing about this, four other team members from Mr Marshall’s firm – Daniel Poxon, Will Phillips, Matt Collett and Matt Wheatcroft all signed up to trek to the summits of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

Mr Marshall said: “Together it was a combined height of more than 11,000 feet and took us 24 hours to complete.

“It was the hardest physical challenge we’ve ever done and on the last climb it was completely pitch black coming back down.

“But I’m so happy, raising £3,000 for the charity in just six weeks has made it all worthwhile.”
